Milaidhoo hosts a Pascal Jolivet wine dinner on 4 December

Loire Valley winemaker Pascal Jolivet will present four of his wines at a five-course pairing dinner at Milaidhoo Maldives in Baa Atoll on 4 December.

Milaidhoo Maldives in Baa Atoll has a winemaker dinner in its December calendar. French producer Pascal Jolivet will be on the island on 4 December to host a five-course dinner, with one of his wines matched to each course.

The wines

Jolivet makes wine in France's Loire Valley; his house dates from 1987 and is known for fresh, precise styles. On the night he will pour Sancerre Signature 2023, Pouilly-Fumé Indigène 2023, Attitude Pinot Noir 2024 and Sancerre Rosé 2024, and talk guests through how each is made.

Why it is worth booking

Meeting the winemaker in person on a small island is rare. Milaidhoo's resident sommelier, Nikhil Bakle, says the aim is for guests to hear about each bottle from the man who made it and to see how it works with the food. Hotelier Maldives did not report a price, so ask us before you travel.

For guests

Milaidhoo is a 50-villa island about 30 minutes from Malé by seaplane, close to Hanifaru Bay in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Places at a dinner like this are limited, so if you are staying around 4 December, let us know and we will ask the resort to hold seats.
