Baros Maldives is a 5-star, adults-only boutique resort on a small island in the southern part of North Malé Atoll, just 25 minutes from Velana International Airport by speedboat. One of the first resorts in the Maldives, opened in 1972, it has been named the World's Most Romantic Resort nine times. The island is free of motorised water sports and noise, and the excellent house reef wraps around it.
There are 75 villas, each with a dedicated Villa Host. Deluxe Beach Villas and Baros Villas sit on the sand, Baros Pool Villas (about 134 m²) add a private pool, and Water Villas and Water Pool Villas (about 129 m²) stand over the lagoon. Three restaurants include The Lighthouse Restaurant, an icon of the island, along with lounges, a pool bar and 24-hour room service. Meal plans are bed & breakfast, half board or full board, and private dining experiences can be arranged.
Serenity Spa sits hidden among the trees, with an outdoor pool, sauna and fitness centre. The Eco Dive Centre has around 30 dive sites nearby, and snorkelling on the house reef is excellent.
Baros Maldives is reached from Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé, the main international gateway to the Maldives. The speedboat transfer takes about 25 minutes, and speedboats can usually run after dark too, which helps with late arrivals. We arrange the transfer with the resort and include it in your quote.
