The island
Fushifaru Maldives is a 5-star boutique resort on a 400-metre-long island in Lhaviyani Atoll, about 35 minutes from Velana International Airport by seaplane. Its reef is nationally protected and the resort runs an active coral restoration programme, so snorkelling from the shore is excellent. The well-known Fushifaru Thila dive site is close by.
Villas
There are 56 villas. Beach Villas face sunrise or sunset, and Pool Beach Villas add a private pool for up to three guests. The Beach Duplex Villa sleeps four. Over the lagoon, Jacuzzi Water Villas suit couples, while Pool Water Villas and Premium Pool Water Villas have private pools. Villas have balconies or patios and rain showers.
Dining and drinks
Three restaurants, including Korakali, sit alongside a lounge, a pool bar and beach bars, with 24-hour room service. Meal plans range from bed & breakfast to all inclusive.
Spa and activities
The spa offers massages and facials, and there is an outdoor pool and a tennis court. Diving, snorkelling and coral planting are the highlights, and there is a kids' club.
Getting there
Fushifaru Maldives is reached from Velana International Airport (MLE) in Malé, the main international gateway to the Maldives. The seaplane flight takes about 35 minutes, with views over the atolls on the way. Seaplanes fly in daylight only, so guests landing late in the day usually spend a night near the airport and fly on next morning. Check-in is from 14:00 and check-out is at 12:00. We arrange the transfer with the resort and include it in your quote.
Who it suits
Fushifaru suits honeymooners, divers and families who want a small, personal island with a strong focus on marine conservation. Through Maldives Agents, villas start from about USD 598 per night for two adults, excluding taxes and transfers.
